Why I Started (& What’s Next)

I’ve been thinking about starting this blog for a long time. It’s one of those ideas that kept popping up in the back of my mind every time I finished a great book or found myself wishing I had someone to talk to about a story that stuck with me. Eventually, I realized I didn’t need to wait for the “perfect” moment to start. I just needed to begin. Here is my beginning.

Reading has always been more than just a hobby for me. It’s how I unwind, how I explore new perspectives, and sometimes even how I understand myself a little better. There’s something powerful about getting lost in a story and coming out of it changed. Because let’s be honest, every book changes you in some way. Even the bad ones.

I’m currently a first-time author working on my very first book, which is both exciting and a little intimidating. Starting this blog feels like a natural step, a place where I can grow as both a reader and a writer, and document that journey along the way.

So, why this blog?

I wanted a space where I could talk honestly about books both the ones I love and the ones I… struggle… with. I wanted to create something that feels real, not overly polished or filtered. Just genuine thoughts, reactions, and conversations. And as I work on my own book, this will also be a place where I can share pieces of that process too! The highs, the challenges, and everything in between.

And maybe, along the way, I’ll connect with people who love books in the same way or even completely differently. I think there’s something really special about that.

What’s next?

I plan to share book reviews, recommendations, and maybe even a few reading lists here and there. Some posts might be short and to the point, others a bit more in-depth. I’ll also be sharing updates on my writing journey as I work through my first book, figuring things out one step at a time.

More than anything, I want this to be a place that grows over time. Not just in content, but in confidence, creativity, and connection.

If you’re here at the beginning, thank you. It means more than you probably realize.

And if you have a book you think I should read, I’m always open to suggestions (seriously. always. any book.)

So! Here’s to new beginnings! And a lot of good books ahead, hopefully both written and consumed by me.
